What is holding him back?

He and I have known each other for about two years now. Theres always been a bit of chemistry between us and mild flirtation, but I've been waiting so long for him to finally make a move. Then two weeks ago, out of the blue, he says that he wants to meet me. We met and ended up kissing for a good part of the evening! He complemented me several times and said that he was looking forward to seeing me again, said that he'd text me the next day. Which he did. And the day after that, and the day after that. In fact he initiated conversation every day until we met up again last weekend. Since then, the messages have become fewer, but he still messages me. The last time we were together, he said that I was very capable of "leading him astray" (neither of us would have until in a serious relationship) and I could tell that he was really into me. I'm just wondering why things have quietened down though. I have suggested twice this week about meeting, but he has "something on" whenever I ask. Is he playing me?? He says that hes an and that he has issues being straight with girls. Is this it??
