Does anyone have this amp at 2 ohms and does it do okay?

I have 1000mrp alpine amp. 2 12inch alpine type r's at 2 ohm and i was wondering [utting the subs on a 2 ohm load for the amp will it eventually fry my amp thats what a bestbuy guy told me so if you have this product at 2 ohm does it overheat, shutoff or have any problems. I want to get the full 1000 watt power but dont want to fry my amp the guy said he could wire it and i could get about 600 watts im way underpowering them if i do that.
