I have a pus on the right side of my throat, what should I do? strep? candida? mono? help!

I aleready taken amoxicillin for 10 days tid ( thrice a day) 500 mg but still it does not heal - it's still there. I don't know what kind of disesase is this. it hjas a single pus and then my right throat is abnormal in size compared to my other throat and it is itchy somnetimes and saliva is aculating on my throat. what should I do? what do you think is this? has anyone experienced this before? what treatment did you used? I will go see a doctor tomorrow - this pus is on my throat about a month now.. hays.....
