How do you reconcile with someone that rejects your overtures?

One of my relatives and I have always been at odds. It began in childhood and has continued to this day. Years ago, in anger I said some hurtful things. I apologized, but she has never forgiven me. I have tried to reconcile, but all my kind intentions are rejected!
