Ms dos based restore program?

I need a restore program preferably ms dos based, 2weeks ago i set my nvidia pc card to run a monitor, and tv simultaneously, needless to say it froze up, i turned it off then turned back on it with just the monitor hooked up.It booted up to the win xp logo, then the screen went black, I could hear the hardrive running, I umed i fudged up the settings on the graphics card, and i could not get into windows to fix settings because the screen was black.I never could fix it , I had to reinstall xp, good thing I didn't have nething important on it...
