3 hour glucose test and ultrasound?

I'm 29 weeks pregnant(tomorrow) with my 3rd child, and have never had gestational diabetes with the other two. I had my blood sugar tested and it was 8 points above the cut off line, and the doctor said he wasn't worried about me taking the test, but since the nurse had already made the orders out to get a 3 hour test done, he said go ahead but it'll more than likely come back normal.Sooo,I have to take my 3 hour glucose test and never have before! But also, I have to take it the day my ultrasound is, and this is my last one, so we're really hoping to find out what it is this time!! They are a little 2 hours apart from the end of the test till the ultrasound. I was wondering will the sweet junk they give me affect the baby's position, or make him/her get really wiggly where we wont be able to tell or anything??? If so, I really don't want to do both the same day lol. I've waited 3 months since my lst ultrasoiund to see what it is this time cause they couldnt tell last time, so I really dont wanna take chances on it being hyper and wont float still. lol Experiences are much appreciated!!!!! thanks!
